It’s Q&A time on orkut

Today we’re launching a new feature on orkut™ called orkut ask friends. It gives you the ability to ask questions to and receive answers from people who are experts in the most important topic – you!

This feature will be of particular benefit to users who are seeking personal suggestions, recommendations, advice or private information from their friends. Such information is usually best shared in a setting where the user knows and trusts other users, and orkut ask friends provides the convenience and privacy for such interactions.

So, if you’re looking to plan an adventure trip with college buddies or trying to figure out the best place for salsa classes in Pune, go to orkut and ask your friends what they think!

To use orkut ask friends:

• Sign in to your orkut account and enable the ask friends feature from the ‘add stuff’ page. It then appears as a menu item on the left navigation bar of your orkut home page.
• When asking a question, you can either direct your question to specific friends or allow the system to automatically route the question to a subset of friends who have answered similar questions before.
• You can also click on the ask friends tab on the menu bar in your friends profile to see questions and answers that you have access to.
